3.1.     Finance requirements for the business are stated in the business plan.

Structure and layout of the business plan is designed to be compatible with the nature of own venture.

Drawing up a business plan is not a quick and easy process – it takes a lot of time research and planning.

Read the features of a good business plan as quoted from the ABSA Website earlier in this Unit Standard.

Your business plan should at least consist of the following parts:

  1. Cover page.

Design a smart looking, professional cover page with the second page giving the contents of your business plan. It is important for your cover page and your whole business plan to show how serious you are about starting your own business. Your cover page must give:

  • the name of the business
  • the entrepreneurs name
  • the entrepreneurs addresses and contact telephone numbers
  • the logo of your business
  • Summarise your business idea

Your summary should make the reader want to continue to read the rest of the document. Although the summary is requested on the third page of your business plan workbook, you should only write it after all the other parts of your plan have been written. You need to do this so that you can first get a complete picture of the business plan before making a summary of it.

  • Describing your business.
  • The marketing plan of your business

e)  The management plan of your business

f)  The financial plan of your business
